World Cup 2022 play-off draw: Wales host Austria & Scotland face Ukraine



Scotland will host Ukraine in the play-offs for the World Cup in 2022, while Wales will host Austria.

If Scotland and Wales win their matches, they will face each other in a final for a spot in the finals.

Scotland has waited 24 years to play in a World Cup, while Wales has not played in one in 64 years.

Italy will play North Macedonia and Portugal will play Turkey in the semi-finals.

Italy and Portugal will not be at the World Cup because of the draw, with the winners of their semis meeting in a final.

The semi-finals and finals will be played over five days.

What are the chances for the home nations?

The first part of the draw gave Scotland and Wales a home tie, but the second part gave the home tie to the winner of Wales v Austria.

Austria won their Nations League group and are in the play-offs.

Robert Page said that Wales worked so hard to finish second and get a home draw.
