The pair have over one million followers on the "SoniaxFyza" account on the social media platform. Although they are both of Pakistani descent, they are often referred to as look-a-likes of other people, such as KimKardashian andKylieJenner.
A video, which appeared to be a screen-recording of a voice mome sent by an account under the handle SoniaxFyza, started to circulate on November 21.
The voice memo featured a number of anti-Asian comments, using racial slurs, threatening violence, and using offensive language to refer to the recipient.
A statement attributed to Fyza said she had taken a step back and reflected on her act of racism during a moment of anger.
She asked people to understand that she was struggling after the death of her mother, and that she didn't realize the impact of her "disgusting comments." She apologized as a human being, as a woman, and as a community.
A video message was posted to the pair's account.
She said she was admitting to her mistakes.

The two people who did not respond to Insider's request for comment were Fyza and Sonia.
According to The Sun, three brands that the pair had worked with previously told them they wouldn't be working with Fyza anymore.
According to the Daily Mail, Fyza appeared to respond on the joint account. According to the outlet, a statement posted to anInstagram story entitled "unapologetic" read, "I won't apologize for defending myself in anger because I simply had enough."
