Ralf Rangnick: Jurgen Klopp says Manchester United interest 'not good news for other teams'

In December 2005, the Mainz team met the Schalke team.

If Manchester United agree to a deal with Rangnick, a good coach is coming to England, says the manager of the other team.

One of the younger German coaches looked up to Rangnick and they faced each other as rival bosses.

"United will be organised on the field," said the German. That's not good news for other teams.

Before being in charge of six other clubs, Rangnick set Ulm on course to promotion to the Bundesliga.

He is the manager of sports and development for Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow, and he has worked for the Red Bull group of clubs.

He's an outstanding coach and a really good man. He built Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig from the ground up, and he's a really experienced manager.

He's done a lot of different jobs in football, but his first priority was always being a coach, and that's what his best skill is."

He is very highly regarded and rightly so, according to the ex-Mainz and Borussia Dortmund boss. He did an amazing job wherever he was.

He started as a young man at the reserve team and kept going. He made his way up after getting to the Bundesliga.

When I was a young coach, we faced each other for the first time. He might have forgotten, but they always played our opponent a week later, so he called me, the young manager of Mainz, and asked a lot of questions.

I was happy that he was calling, but he didn't have all the information he needed. He still owes me because we didn't get promoted.
