It wasn't pretty. The 31-6 score might indicate that there wasn't a lot of glamour to this win. Quarterback Josh Allen threw two picks, including his first in the red zone of his career, and a teammate left the game with a knee injury.

It was enough for a win over the New Orleans Saints that brought the Buffalo Bills' record to 7-4. The Bills need every win they can get, and this one was dominant in all three phases against a banged-up Saints team.

Allen said that they need to continue to find ways to stack. Every week is a one-game season and we have to find ways to win football games. We're not just happy with winning, we're also pursuing perfection. We want to be the best versions of ourselves every day we step into that building, every time we step on the field.

The Bills had balanced success through the air and on the ground, something that has been missing this season. The team had nine rushing first downs and 11 passing first downs. Buffalo was able to control the game by dominating time of possession and avoiding penalties. A costly penalty took a touchdown from a Dawson Knox and Allen threw a pick on the next play.

The Bills coach said that he felt a hit on Allen in the third quarter was not called by the refs.

"I thought they should be called for one on Josh," he said. I'm really frustrated that that doesn't happen. It is clear to see that. I want to protect my quarterback.

After throwing a pair of picks in the second quarter, Allen led a pair of touchdown drives to start the second half and give Buffalo a four-score lead. The record for most touchdown catches by a Bills tight end in a season was set by Knox.

One of the biggest questions going forward is the health of White, one of the best players on a team that still has its sights set on a deep playoff run. One of the league's top defenses would take a big hit if the defense missed a lot of time.

"Obviously, he's a huge part of the team and his presence on the football field is unparalleled, and hopefully he's healthy," Hyde said.

White will have 11 days to recover and the Bills will have to prepare for a Monday night game.

Allen had a career-high completion percentage and threw two head-scratching picks, but he still had a great game. He completed 23 of 28 passes for 260 yards and had four touchdown passes and two picks. He ran for 43 yards on eight carries.

Allen's recent picks need to be corrected. They didn't hurt against the Saints, but there is a concerning trend. In the last four games, Allen has thrown an intercept for the first time in his career. Even though he makes mistakes, he can still play at a high level and limit the mistakes.

Buy on a performance by Matt Breida. The Bills have not been able to find consistency on the ground, but with the absence of Moss, Breida and Singletary had success. Breida had nine carries for 26 yards and two catches for 29 yards and a score, and Singletary had a game-high 44 yards on 15 carries.

They did it against the No. 3 run defense.

Buffalo needed to show that it can run the football and integrate that into the offense going forward, even though Breida might not have had an eye-catching performance on paper. Thursday is a step in the right direction.

The weapons we have on offense are fun. We could score 50-yard touchdown and then go to Breida and run the ball down their throats, too," he said.
