Since the Las Vegas Raiders emerged from their bye, Carr has not been himself.

He felt off after a three-game losing streak, with fans calling for him to be replaced with Marcus Mariota. Carr remembered a piece of advice his former coach Jon Gruden gave him as he prepared for the Dallas Cowboys game.

Don't take your arm out of the game.

Carr passed for 373 yards in the Raiders' 36-33 overtime win, his most since Week 3, when the Raiders were 2-0.

Carr said starting faster on offense was important. The chef's kiss was given to DeSean Jackson after he scored on the Raiders' third play from scrimmage. Even if it was early.

"We get that touchdown, I look at the score, and it's seven," Carr said. I'm excited. I'm an emotional, passionate person, but my mindset is simply, OK, 0-7. We have to keep going.

I can't exhale during the game because it was so close. We hit that play and it's exciting, but I can't exhale. I have to stay in the moment and win or lose.

Carr ran for a 22-yard pickup. He gestured a "shaka" hand sign at the native Hawaiian.

Carr said that he gets a kick out of the fact that he calls himself 'Carriota'. He'll laugh at me when I come up to him and say, 'Carriota, bro.' It's likely to appease me. It was good to be able to pick it up. I felt that they got tripped up. At that point, it was just experience. I knew they were in the man coverage, and when that gain happened and they didn't have contain, I just took off.

Rich said thatDerek is his biggest critic. We've all been off sync.

He looked like Carr. It's fun to watch him play.

The Raiders, who play host to Washington in 10 days, have been through a lot this season, including the resignation of Jon Gruden and the death of a woman and her dog in a high-speed car crash.

The Raiders' vertical threat was gone with the release of Ruggs. Jackson is rounding into form for Las Vegas, he turns 35 on Wednesday.

Carr said that he was going to be so aggressive when ruggs was here. It can lead to not completing as many balls on a percentage chart, but to me, it's not something to do with the game. Let's rip 'em when we call them.
