If you put the two Elite models next to each other in the same color, you may not know which is which. The form factor of the Elite 75t was not re-designed to make the Active model. The more ruggedized Elite Active 75t are very similar to each other. The main difference is in the quality of the material.
The Elite 75t have an rating of 55, which means they have good dust resistance and water resistance. The odd splash or drop of rain shouldn't affect performance or longevity, but Jabra recommends not submerging them in water. The company used a special coating on the earbuds that made them waterproof.
You don't see the coating when handling the earbuds, because it isn't obvious to the eye. They would be fine in a meter of clear water for up to 30 minutes, but anything longer would cause them to be bricked. The sandy part of the beach is where saltwater is not allowed.

It's just that you don't get any advantage, no matter which way you go, because there's good stuff there to work with. If you want to hold out for the Elite 85t, you should know that Jabra reduced the water resistance on those earbuds by giving them an IPX4 rating. It's not clear if they're less resistant to sweat.
When you want to use them, you have a choice. The Elite Active 75t are the best earbuds for working out. If you don't work out much and just listen to tunes, the Elite 75t are good enough to not pay the premium. If you're on the fence, go with the Active model.
