Anthony Davis will not play for the Lakers against the Pacers because of flu-like symptoms.

Davis was sick on Tuesday and was able to play through it and finish with 20 points and six boards in a 106-100 loss to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

After the Knicks game, Davis said he woke up not feeling well. "Headache." All flu symptoms. A person is coughing. There was a lot of achy skin. The body is tired. Everything. They told me that I was in the hotel and that my low-grade fever could be a sign of a disease. I couldn't leave until I had a break in my illness.

Got in the car and shot the illness. 48 minutes on the game clock. I did as much treatment as I could. Got dressed. Went to play. That was it.

Davis will miss his first game of the season.

"He was in bed all day with the fever, after the game," the Lakers coach said.

The Pacers will be facing the Los Angeles Lakers.

Through 20 games, the Lakers have 10 different starting lineups.

"We haven't played a lot of minutes without Anthony," he said. "He's been in every game, and it's a different challenge for us with what he does on both sides of the ball, and this is a big team that we're playing against, so we will definitely miss his size and length inside." We have to adjust. We've been putting guys in and out of the lineup all year, so it's no different tonight.

Los Angeles is on a five-game road trip that ends against the Pacers.
