On August 25, Rittenhouse opened fire on demonstrators, killing two and wounding Gaige Grosskreutz. He was found not guilty on all five felony counts stemming from the shootings.

Trump said that the case against Rittenhouse was prosecutorial. He should not have had to go through that trial. He was going to die.

"If he didn't pull the gun out, the guy that put the gun to his head was going to pull the gun out," the former president said. Kyle would have been dead.

Rittenhouse took the stand at the end of the trial and claimed that he acted in self-defense when he opened fire on the demonstrators.

I didn't do anything wrong. He said during his testimony that he defended himself.

In his interview with Carlson, Rittenhouse insisted that he isn't a racist and that he supports the Black Lives Matter movement.

The case has nothing to do with race. It had nothing to do with race. He said it had to do with the right to self-defense. I'm not a racist. I support the BLM movement. I support peaceful demonstrations.

In his interview with Banfield, the teen was asked about the offers he's received from far-right members of Congress.

Rittenhouse said that he did not plan on accepting any internships. I don't want to get involved in politics.

He was asked about a photo with members of the Proud Boys and a hand gesture used by white supremacists.

Rittenhouse said that he didn't know that the OK hand sign was a symbol for white supremacy. They were set up by my former attorney, who was fired because of that, for putting me in situations like that with people I don't agree with.

Rittenhouse said that Lin Wood was fired for pushing a baseless claim that the 2020 election was stolen.

Rittenhouse said that he was going on with all the election fraud stuff. "He's insane."
