James Corden's relationship with his fans has been rocky.
The host of the Late Late Show received a lot of backlash after joking about the U.N. appearance of the band, and implying their fans were made up of 15-year-old girls.
They came back on Tuesday. "But James, how about you?" asked RM after Corden asked how they were. Are you okay, you've been in some hot water?
After resting his head on his arm for a while, Corden responded with an explanation of what had happened.
"We did two jokes that I didn't think were offensive to anyone, and we said that we thought it was odd that you were kicking off the U.N. Summit with a performance." I'm 43 years old and I consider myself to be one of the biggest BTS fans on the planet.
The Late Late Show band's lead singer Reggie Watts messaged Corden to ask if he was okay after hearing about the backlash.
"I was told by someone that they hope I die today, which did feel extreme," Corden said. "It did feel extreme in response to what I thought were two harmless jokes, which we never wanted to be at anyone's expense, because we absolutely love you and we love the entire army."
