In the Final Four in April, UCLA and Gonzaga played one of the greatest games in college basketball history, one that was decided on a buzzer beater by Suggs in overtime.

There were no miracle shots in the second game of the season, as No. 1 Gonzaga dominated No. 2 UCLA in an 83-63 victory.

A potential national title preview was billed as one of the season's premier nonconference games. Instead, it was a showcase for a team that will face Duke on Friday in a game between two of America's best.

In the first half, the team made 57.7% of its shots. The Bruins missed 25 of their first 31 shots on Tuesday. They couldn't hit the 3-pointers because they couldn't find any room inside the arc, and they couldn't find any other ways to score.

UCLA's plans were complicated by the length of Drew Timme. There were four blocks in the game. In the paint, the Bruins were out-painted 34-30 by the Zags, while also connecting on 39% of their 3-point attempts.

The four double-digit scorers were Andrew Nembhard, who had 24 points, and three others.

Mark Few said after his team's win over Central Michigan that this group will gain more experience as it continues to grow.

He said that they were learning on the fly.

The UCLA game is an example of an early showcase that can help the sport.

"I think it's something that all of us, we've got to collectively as coaches try to do," he said. I think there is a chance to focus on the entire sport as we get going instead of waiting around for all the attention to be focused on us in March.
