The new images show the amazing landscape of Mars.
Exactly 10 years ago, the explorer launched to the Red Planet. The side of Mount Sharp is known as Aeolis Mons, and it is a mountain that forms the central peak of Gale Crater. The beauty of the natural Martian landscape was captured by mission team members.
The team was inspired by the beauty of the landscape and combined two different images from different times of the day to create a rare postcard from the Red Planet.
There are blue, orange and green colors added to the picture. The images are black and white.

NASA's Perseverance rover is the newest robot on Mars. The rover is in great shape almost a decade after it was launched, and it has been exploring the Martian surface since it landed.
The mission was to study the possibility that the crater was once capable of hosting life. Two years into its mission, the rover reached the base of Mount Sharp, which is 5 miles (8 kilometers) tall in the center of the crater.

In August, the rover arrived at a new region, one that is intriguing to scientists because of its mineral-rich rocks and materials that could reveal information about the planet's climate. Over the course of 16 miles (26 km) on the Red Planet, the rover has traveled over 1,500 feet above where it originally landed.
