Apple Sues Israeli Spyware Firm Over Alleged Cyberattacks Against Governments, Dissidents, Journalists

Apple filed for a permanent injunction to ban the NSO Group from using Apple products after it was accused of surveilled and targeted Apple users.

NSO Group was accused by Apple of using its FORCEDENTRY software to break into Apple devices.

The group and its clients were able to access users' microphones, cameras and other sensitive data.

The tech giant said the attacks only affected a small number of users.

Any damages from the suit will be donated by Apple, along with $10 million.

NSO Group is being sued by a messaging service for allegedly targeting its server to gain access to users. In July, 17 media outlets investigated NSO and reported that the company's software was used to target the mobile devices of several world leaders, including the French president. The Israeli government has been asked to investigate the claims. The CEO of NSO denied the allegations.
