Brian Laundrie Cause of Death Revealed as Suicide, Gunshot Wound to the Head

According to the family attorney, Brian Laundrie died as a result of a gunshot wound to the head.

According to Steve Bertolino, Laundrie's parents have been told the cause of death was suicide. He told us that both parents are still mourning the loss of their son, and that he hopes the findings bring some sense of closure to both families.

The news came after Laundrie's bones were examined by an anthropologist.

Laundrie's body was found at Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park by investigators on the advice of his parents, who suggested they search that same area again.

The anthropology examination was commissioned to get to the bottom of how Brian died, because a medical examiner couldn't determine how he died. They discovered this was Brian because of his teeth, which were intact enough.

At least partially, this seems to be the end of the saga. We now know how Brian and Gabby died, but we don't know who killed Gabby or what Brian's role was.

As we reported. Brian returned to Florida from a cross-country trip with his fiancée, but he didn't see her. After touching down in North Port again, he saw his parents. Brian went missing without a trace.

There was a nationwide search for him that lasted for weeks and weeks.

The FBI said that they didn't find him earlier because the area he ended up in was underwater for most of their initial search.
