Michael Strahan is going to space next month.

Laura Shepard Churchley, the oldest daughter of Alan Shepard, will be on the New Shepard mission in December.

The New Shepard craft will be used to shuttle humans to space, as well as carrying four paying customers, and the Blue Origin flight, the company headed by Jeff Bezos.

The ticket price for paying customers is not disclosed by Blue Origin.

The 10-minute flight is five minutes shorter than Alan Shepard's 1961 Mercury flight and will carry six people, two more than the previous two flights this year.

Michaelstrahan will be flying on the New Shepard rocket on December 9.

Good Morning America is on November 23, 2021.

Similar to previous flights, the flight is likely to include about three minutes of weightlessness and a view of the Earth. Passengers are subjected to 6 G's, or six times the force of Earth's gravity, as the capsule descends.

The first Blue Origin flight was reported on by the "Good Morning America'' host.

"I would love to go to space,'' he said. It was mind-blowing to be there at the first launch.

The New York Giants will retire the number 92 of former defensive end Michael Strahan on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Lawrence Taylor had 142 sacks with the Giants, but the seven-time Pro Bowl selection had 141.5. He set the single-season sacks record in 2001 with 22.5 and was the defensive player of the year.

He was a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Both Bezos and Shatner flew on New Shepard flights. The previous record was set by a passenger on Bezos' flight in July, but Shatner became the oldest person in space at 90.

Richard Branson went into space in his own rocket ship in July, followed by Blue Origin's first flight with a crew nine days later. The first private voyage by Musk's company was made in September.

The Associated Press contributed to the report.
