Woman says Diego Maradona raped her when she was a teenager

Diego Maradona died in 2020.

A Cuban woman who had a relationship with the late Diego Maradona said in a news conference on Monday that the Argentine player raped her when she was a teenager.

The Argentine Ministry of Justice court is investigating Mavys' allegations that she was a victim of human traffickers when she was a teenager.

One of the greatest soccer players of all time, Diego Maradona, died in 2020.

The complaint relates to a trip that was taken in 2001 by Maradona and his friend, Alvarez. She met the soccer star when he was in Cuba for drug addiction treatment.

At a news conference in Buenos Aires, she said Maradona had raped her in Havana while her mother was in the next room.

"He rapes me, I don't want to think about it too much, he covers my mouth, and I don't want him to do it again," he said.

All my innocence was taken from me, I stopped being a girl. It's difficult. You stop living the innocent things that a girl of that age has to experience.

Matias Morla, Maradona's lawyer before his death, did not respond to a request for comment. The other legal representatives for Maradona were not identified.

In media interviews, she has described the relationship as consensual, but she has also said that Maradona forced himself upon her.

She said that her family only allowed a relationship with the star because of his friendship with the Cuban President.

If the Cuban government had not been involved, her family would not have accepted it. They were forced to accept a relationship that wasn't good for them or anyone.

Cuba's government didn't respond to the request for comment.

She said she filed the complaint to help women and victims of crime. To be able to help them in any way I can. That's my idea.

She said it was difficult to return to Argentina, where Maradona is a hero.

She said that it was hard to be in his country and to see that he is an icon.
