If the NFL has seemed a little wacky and unpredictable this season, that’s because it has been wacky and unpredictable

It is true, not just you. The season of the National Football League has been unusual. The best teams in each conference lost to teams with a record below.500 in Week 11. Several of the better teams suffered defeats on the same day. The Buffalo Bills lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 9.

11 teams with a record of.500 or below have defeated division leaders in the last nine weeks, which is the most since 1970, according to The Ringer. The playoff picture in the last three weeks has completely changed, and that is because of the Packers road loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The New England and Kansas City teams were both.500 going into Week 9. They are both 7-4 after victories on Sunday. The Las Vegas Raiders are the leader of the division in Week 9 and currently have a.500 record, 11th best in the conference and outside of the playoffs. The Bills were the best team in the league early in the season. They are holding on to the final Wild Card spot. The Bills lost to the Colts yesterday, who were 5-5 going into Week 9 and are in the running for the playoffs.

There have been 23 games decided on the final play in the last 11 weeks, the most since 1970. If you are an employee or fan of the Vikings, that won't make you feel any better.

The record improved to.500 after one of those final play victories. Three of their five losses this season have been decided by field goals. The Vikings missed a field goal on the last play of the game that would have defeated the Arizona Cardinals, who are currently the best team in the league at 9-2.

It has been a type of year in the NFL. The season is so random that the Cards own the best record in the sport, and they had the second-best defense in the league going into Week 11. During his time as Texas Tech coach, the words defense and best were not used. The Los Angeles Rams were supposed to take over the division. They had one loss going into Week 9. The Rams lost their next two games, while the Cards won their next two games with Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins out of the lineup.

How is this season going to end? Will the Bills get it together and storm through the rest of the season, or are the Pats the team to beat now that they are on a five-game winning streak? Will luck break the Vikings the rest of the season after one of those game-winning kicks finally went their way against a division rival, or will the Packers move on from that loss the same way they did their embarrassing season opener against the New Orleans Saints?

The only safe bet is to not make one, as the way this season has played out, it is obvious.
