How Should the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy Characters Come Back?

The end of The Rise of Skywalker was as much an ending as a beginning. The granddaughter of Palptaine had defeated the Sith and taken her mantle. The galaxy was in turmoil. The same goes for Rey, as her journey as a Jedi was just beginning at the end of Return of the Jedi.

Most of the stars have said they have no plans to return. It is unlikely that any of the Star Wars films will continue the story. That could change. In a new interview, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy made it clear that Rey, Finn, Poe, and the rest of the sequel trilogy characters are not finished. Kennedy told Empire that those characters are not going to be forgotten. They will live on, and those are conversations that are going on with the creative team as well.

Which is exciting? It has to go back to Episode X, even though the Skywalker Saga is over, because fans want to see what Patty Jenkins, Taika Waititi, Kevin Feige and others have up their Jedi robes. Tell us how you think the story should continue. Is it a good idea for all the characters to come back? Just a few? What do you think?

I would make the movie I wanted Episode VII to be if I was writing Episode X. Rey is the Last Jedi, she has all the tools of that discipline at her disposal, now let's see how she tries to bring back that discipline in a new way. It is a movie about the return of the Jedi. Maybe one of her students will discover the dark side and turn on her. The Resistance and the First Order are still around, so they can wait. The story is about the Force. It is a good thing because we never got to see a young Mark Hamill training Jedi in full, and only saw some of it in flashbacks or comic books. It was always a disappointment. I wouldn't let Daisy Ridley wait too long to get a dump truck of cash and then beg her to bust out the yellow saber again.

That is just me. Tell us what you think.
