MoonPay scores $3.4 billion valuation as the PayPal for crypto reportedly plans hiring spree

MoonPay raised more than half a billion dollars in order to beef up its staff.

The company said in a press release that it raised $555 million in a funding round. The equity injection gave the company the power to add hundreds more jobs.

MoonPay plans to hire 200 people, more than doubling its current staff of 130, according to a report. The jobs will be based in Miami and around the world.
The company wrote in its press release that it wants to continue its exceptional growth so that it remains the leading company in the industry.
In two years, MoonPay has attracted 7 million customers and processed $2 billion worth of transactions. Users can use all major payment methods, like a credit card or Apple Pay, to convert their traditional currency to cryptocurrencies.

"We set out to give businesses the tools to onboard new users with magical product experiences in order to make it easier for people to get access to the cripto economy," she said in the press release. Billions of people will be able to access trillions of dollars of digital value over the next decade.
