'Blade Runner' live action TV series is coming, Ridley Scott confirms

There is a live action TV series for Blade Runner, along with small details for the already announced Alien series.

The House of Gucci director spoke about the new series on the Today program on Monday. He said that they were already into writing the pilot for the movie. The first 10 hours will be devoted to presenting Blade Runner as a TV show.

Adult Swim's Blade Runner: Black Lotus, which has three episodes out so far, is different to the live action series. It's not clear when the Blade Runner series will pick up, whether before or after the events of Scott's original 1982 sci-fi classic, or Denis Villeneuve's monumental sequel, Blade Runner 2049.

The cast of the series has not been announced.

Scott confirmed a few small details about the live action Alien series, inspired by the beloved sci fi horror film series that began in 1979. Disney announced it in December with Fargo creator Noah Hawley at the helm. Scott confirmed that Alien is being written for a pilot. If it's 10 hours or 8 hours, you have to write the history down.

The only thing we know?

In December, Hawley told Vanity Fair that it was not a Ripley story. She is one of the great characters of all time, and I don't want to mess with it. It is a story that is set on Earth. The alien stories are trapped in a prison, in a space ship and in a prison. The stakes of 'What happens if you can't contain it?' are more immediate if you open it up a little bit.
