A letter from Tennis Australia to prospective Australian Open players proclaimed good news.
The letter stated that from December 1st, arrivals for the tournament could enter on standard flights, rather than charter flights, and no quarantine period would be needed for any arrivals from this date.
The wording of the letter seemed to indicate that New South Wales and Victoria would be opening their borders to travelers from December 1st.
It was not clear if that would only apply to Australians abroad or return home, or if it would also apply to any visitors too. Everyone speculated for the worst.
