Pete Carroll is more frustrated than he has ever been in his 10-plus years in Seattle. He admitted as much after cutting his news conference short.

There was an odd scene after Seattle's 23-13 loss to Arizona. The loss dropped the Seahawks to 3-7, marking the first time since 2011 that they have not won a game and only the second time in Pete's tenure that they have been four games under.500.

"I'm not good at handling this level of losing," he said. I'm not prepared for this. I'm struggling to do a good job of coaching when you're getting your butt kicked week in and week out. I'm competing in every way I can think of in this new territory. I'm not familiar with it. I'm not on my best game if I leave early or make a mistake. I'm not making excuses. I don't want to be good at this.

Facing a team without a quarterback and a receiver was a golden opportunity for the Seahawks to breathe some life into their fading hopes of making the playoffs for the ninth time in 10 seasons. They allowed Colt McCoy to pass for over 300 yards and two scores, while Russell Wilson and the offense struggled for the second week in a row.

Before he invited questions at his postgame news conference, he said, "I don't have a lot to tell you." He left about eight minutes in. I'm done," and continued to walk off as the reporter began to ask another question.

He apologized for his early exit and returned wearing street clothes. He was as perplexed as he was when he first spoke about why Seattle's offense has been so bad.

He said that it was surprising that they had such a hard time scoring and moving the football. The running game was efficient. We were 1-for-5 on third down in the first half. This is what it has been and it hasn't gotten better. We have to find our way.

After suffering their first loss of the Wilson era last week in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the Seahawks managed only 266 yards of offense and went 2-of-10 on third down against Arizona. Wilson was 0-for-5 on third and fourth downs. He had never finished worse than 0-for-4 on third or fourth down.

Wilson has gone without a touchdown pass in back-to-back games for the first time in his career. The only touchdown of the day came on a DeeJay Dallas run midway through the fourth, snapping a seven-quarter scoring streak. Seattle ran for 86 yards.

Seattle's conversion rate on third down was the third-worst in the league.

Wilson said that they had a few third-and-longs. They made some good plays. We have to find ways, that's the biggest thing for us. Making plays and finding a way are what third down is all about. I think that's what it is. We have to figure out how to do it.

Wilson said that his finger felt fine last week and that he didn't have any issues in his first game since the surgery. He shot down the idea that he's rusty after his rehabilitation, which kept him out of practice for a month. Wilson hit Tyler Lockett for a 48 yard gain to set up Seattle's lone touchdown.

He said the ball was coming out of his hand. I'm not going to make excuses. I'm not an excuse kind of guy.

The New York Giants beat the Seattle Seahawks 17-12 in Seattle last season when Daniel Jones was injured. He completed 13 passes for 105 yards. He carried more of the offensive load on Sunday, completing 35 of 44 attempts and doing most of his damage on underneath throws.

Arizona was a problem for Seattle's defense earlier in the season when it went 7-of-14 on third down.

Bad plays can happen when 10 guys do their job and one doesn't.

The Washington Football Team will play the Seattle Seahawks next week.

"I feel like we're going to win next week and we're going to play a great game on the East Coast and come back here and get ready for the next one," he said. I don't have anything else to think about. I feel like I don't have good answers for you because I keep coming back and talking about the same things. Our answers have not turned it. It begins with me. I have to help my guys get it done.

Wilson was asked how the 3-7 start will affect his future given the way he voiced his frustration this past offseason, a public airing of grievances that led both the quarterback and the organization to flirt with the idea of moving on from each other.

He said that it doesn't affect his thoughts. All I think about is what we're going to do and how we're going to do it. I like this team. I like this organization. I enjoy being here. I like the challenge. I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be a great story.
