It was going to happen sooner or later, so it might have happened now. Veteran actors will have to speak on the matter when a new actor takes on the mantle of a superhero that was already played by other actors. It's important that we all see the role of Blade in a few years, because if we don't, it will be seen as a shame.
When asked about his thoughts on the recasting, he stated that he supports the casting and that is all there is to it. The issue of him being cast was not between us, but between the character and the actor. He said that there is no emotional loss in not playing the Daywalker again, with the only advice to be that Ali should enjoy it while it lasts. Ali already looks cool all the time, so look cool was not said.
Kirk "Sticky" Jones was the only actor to play Blade in the films and the short-lived series for SpikeTV. He hasn't been in long form cinematic narratives like most of the Avengers and Spider-Man, so nobody knows what to expect from this new version. That will eventually lead to paths with someone who counts as an Avenger.
The new Blade will have more freedom to play with the loose canon the character has had in comics over the decades. It's possible that there will be a scene for Kris Kristofferson, and maybe even Ryan Reynolds.
