Mexico is a great place to visit, but rental car companies there are notorious for their scam. They often quote low "guaranteed rates" and force customers to purchase "mandatory" insurance when they pick up the vehicle.

The Mexican franchisees of the rental car company may take the cake for messing with customers, despite the fact that they have one of the worst reputations in the business. Their location at the airport has a rating of 1.5 on the review site.

A customer had enough. They filed a class action on behalf of anyone who used CarRentals.com to reserve a rental car for pick up in Mexico between May 24, 2009, and December 31, 2018, Customers who were affected can submit a claim at the class-action settlement website.

Each class member who files a claim will receive a $26 per day refund for his or her CarRentals in Mexico between May 24, 2009 and December 31, 2018).

The amount may be different depending on how many claims are submitted.
