Police in El Paso say a Southwest Airlines employee was shot and killed.
Police discovered the victim's body in a car park at the airport before 10 pm, according to KFOX14. His name has not been disclosed.
Authorities said they believed the incident happened during a robbery in which more than one suspect was involved.
We are sad to hear about the event. Sam Rodriguez, El Paso aviation director, told KFOX14 that their hearts and deepest sympathies go out to the victim's family and Southwest Airlines.
Southwest Airlines, El Paso International Airport, and authorities did not respond to Insider's request for comment.
The police are still looking for the suspect.
Rodriguez told the outlet that they are fully cooperating with investigators and are grateful for law enforcement officials and first responders in their quick response to the emergency.
The airport remains open and airline operations continued after the incident.
