According to CNN, a member of the US House Select Committee investigating the January 6 Capitol insurrection said that many of the witnesses who were interviewed are former Trump administration officials.
Lofgren said that there have been people in the Trump administration who have spoken to them and provided important insights that have led to further questions.
Lofgren told CNN that some witnesses volunteered their testimony on the condition of being issued a supoena.
She dismissed an executive privilege claim on Saturday from the former White House chief of staff. The committee is considering whether to hold Meadows in criminal contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a subpoena.
The deadline forMeadows to give over documents related to its probe was November 12.
