Man Utd: David de Gea calls 4-1 loss to Watford 'embarrassing' & 'another nightmare'

David De Gea was embarrassed by the United performance.

The Manchester United goalkeeper described the team's loss to the Hornets as "horrible".

TheSolskjaer is under pressure after his side fell to seventh in the league, with a one league win in seven games.

The Hornets had a penalty saved and Captain Harry Maguire was sent off.

"It was embarrassing, the way we played today," De Gea said.

The first half was not acceptable for this club and the level of players that we have. It is another nightmare. I don't know what to say about the difficulties.

We are in a difficult situation and we don't know what to do with the ball. It's a terrible moment.

It's easy to say the manager and staff but the players are the ones who have to score goals and fight on the pitch. We need to give more for the club and the fans. I don't know why there was a performance like this.

We are sad and angry in the dressing room. It's a very difficult moment for the whole club and I'm hurt.

We let ourselves and the fans down.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will take the 'flak' for the United loss.

Since Boxing Day 2020, United has 18 wins in 37 games, a win percentage of less than 50%.

They would be out of the top four if they had lost eight of those games and drawn 11.

Solskjaer's side have conceded 21 goals in the league and have a goal difference of -1, following five defeats in their opening 12 games.

At the end of the game, Solskjaer, who is yet to win a trophy since joining the club in December, went over to the travelling United fans and held his hands up in apology and offered a wave as he walked off.

Bruno said the blame should be on the players and the coaching staff.

The first half was the worst we've played and it's hard for me to explain why we played the way we did. We were defeated.

When you play in the premier league, you have to turn up against good players and good opposition.

The boys have let themselves and the fans down and are in a bad place. It's hard to explain but that's football and we have to take the criticism.

Solskjaer's future will now be under scrutiny with the Reds having already been knocked out of the League Cup by West Ham, and they are yet to guarantee progress from their group with two games remaining.

"I will never say that I feel safe," said Solskjaer.

The players are working as hard as they can, and I will take the blame for that.

The fans are really disappointed. They've been with us through thick and thin.

'Change is inevitable'

On Tuesday, United travel to Villarreal in the European competition, before facing the leaders of the English league at home on Sunday, November 28.

The games against Crystal Palace, Young Boys, andNorwich are in the middle of December.

Solskjaer's future is looking "perilous" according to Martin Keown.

Keown said that he is part of the problem and that the club cannot ignore it.

It is inevitable that change will happen. It's looking for a dangerous person.

The last goal was about passion and desire. Where were the defenders? They weren't strong enough.

Alan Hutton, a former Scotland defender, said on the radio that United were a "team full of stars and they're not performing".
