A Plus Tard wins Betfair Chase at Haydock under Rachael Blackmore



A Plus Tard was ridden by Rachael Blackmore.

A Plus Tard won the Betfair Chase by 22 lengths.

The race turned into a one-horse race after the 11-10 favourite, runner-up in the Gold Cup, turned the contest into a one-horse race.

It was a great performance. Blackmore said that he has loads of class.

Chatham Street Lad was the only other winner.

Waiting Patiently and Imperial Aura were pulled up, along with Bristol De Mai, because they could not reach the level of previous years.

The first Irish trained winner of the race is A Plus Tard.

It was another big win for De Bromhead and Blackmore, who won the Grand National with Minella Times in April.

Cheveley Park Stud had a boost after it was announced that their leading sire had died.

Colin Tizzard's Lostintranslation won the 1965 Chase under Brendan Powell.

Buzz, trained by Nicky Henderson, won the race.

Bravemansgame, ridden by Harry Cobden, won the graduation chase at Haydock and trainer Paul Nicholls was already thinking about next year's King George VI Chase.

Isabel Williams, riding for her father Evan, landed the stayers' handicap hurdle on a 16-1 shot.
