Elon Musk reportedly asks Tesla managers who don't execute orders to 'resign immediately,' according to leaked emails

According to leaked emails, Musk told managers that they would have to resign if they didn't execute orders or explain why he was wrong.

During the first week of October, Musk sent two emails to everyone at the company. During that time, the company announced a record 241,300 vehicles were delivered in the third quarter of 2021, and "Full Self Driving" was put on hold due to safety concerns. The company lost a lawsuit against a former employee who said he was racially harassed while working for them.

Musk's first email was about factory employees listening to music. The CEO said that he supports any little touches that make work more enjoyable, and that employees could listen to music as long as they had one ear bud out for safety reasons.

The three steps managers should do when they're sent directions are outlined in his second email. Musk tells them to reply and explain why he said something that was incorrect, to ask for clarification, or to execute the directions, since he can occasionally be "plain wrong." If they don't reply or explain, the manager will be asked to resign.

Musk didn't respond to Insider's request to comment on the leaked emails.
