Jason Quigley: Donegal fighter overwhelmed by Demetrius Andrade in WBO world title bid

Ireland's Jason Quigley was knocked out in the second round by Demetrius Andrade in his WBO world middleweight title bid.

The American title holder knocked the Donegal fighter down three times.

The referee stopped the fight after the first and second rounds.

I did what I said. I sent a message and felt good. The winner said that he did them.

He is looking forward to his next fight, either against the Mexican Jaime Munguia or against the winner or loser of the fight between Gennadiy Golovkin and the Japanese Ryota Murata.

It was the first world title challenge for Quigley and it was his 21st professional fight.

The bout was never in doubt as the two-weight world champion, Olympian and former world amateur champion took control from the beginning.

Kali Reiss successfully defended her title against Jessica Camara on the undercard. After a split decision win, she added the WBO belt to her collection and will take on Great Britain's Chantelle Cameron in an undisputed fight in 2022.

There was a tense staredown between the two women in the ring as they watched the win by Reiss. The fight is expected to happen in the UK.
