Sources say the Broncos are close to a three-year contract extension with Tim Patrick. The American story of redemption is a great one. In college, I was cut 3 times. Has become the most reliable Broncos receiver over the past 3 years.

Patrick has caught 37 passes for 523 yards and four touchdown in 10 games this season.

In Week 3 of the season, Patrick caught five passes for a season-high 98 yards in a win over the New York Jets.

The veteran's NFL journey was detailed by Jeff Legwold.

During his college career at Utah, he broke his leg and had to sit out the field for 18 months. He missed three games with an injury. He did not receive an invite to the combine, but was still fighting to stay with a team.

Patrick was signed by the Baltimore Ravens as a free agent in May of last year. He was picked up by the 49ers one day later, but he did not make the team.

Patrick was released by Denver less than a month after it signed him to its practice squad. He was signed to a reserve/future contract by the team.

That was a good decision. Patrick had a great year with 51 catches for 752 yards and six touchdown. His services were needed after Courtland was injured in the second game of the season.

In the first week of the season, Broncos wideout Jerry Jeudy suffered a high- ankle injury and missed six games, forcing Patrick into the spotlight yet again. Patrick has four receiving scores.

He, Jeudy, and fellow wideout KJ Hamler are all signed with Denver through at least 2023.

The Broncos are off this week. They'll return in Week 12 with a home game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
