Astra aims to reach orbit for 1st time with early Friday launch: Watch it live

You can watch the action live as Astra attempts to reach the space station.

The window for the launch of the Launch Vehicle 0007 will be open from midnight to 8 pm Alaska time on Friday.
You will be able to watch it live at the top of this page, courtesy of Astra, or directly via the company and NASASpaceflight.com.
The first successful flight of the Rocket 3.2 is shown in the video.

Friday's launch is a test for the military. The 43-foot-tall (13 meters) LV0007 will be carrying a dummy, just as its predecessor did.

It was a memorable liftoff. The rocket performed a horizontal slide off the pad, righted itself a few seconds later and flew into the Alaska sky. The mission was terminated 2.5 minutes into flight due to initial difficulties.

One of the five first-stage engines conked out just after launch, and engineers traced the issue to the vehicle's propellant-distribution system. The company representatives said that the issue has been fixed.

On December 15, 2020, the Pacific Spaceport Complex in Alaska will host a test flight of the Astra's Rocket 3.2. The rocket reached space for the first time. The image is from John Kraus.

The small-satellite launch market is a large part of the Astra's plan to secure a large portion of the market with its line of cost-effective, mass-produced and easily transportable rockets.
The Pacific Spaceport Complex is where the company has conducted three orbital test launches. The first flight ended early after a serious problem with the guidance system.
The rocket ran out of fuel just before it reached its destination, but it reached space on the second mission. The third attempt was made in August.
