Judge in Kyle Rittenhouse trial bars MSNBC from courtroom after freelancer allegedly follows jurors’ bus

The trial of Kyle Rittenhouse was held at the Kenosha County Courthouse.

The judge overseeing Kyle Rittenhouse's trial banned MSNBC from the courthouse after a producer for the network allegedly followed a bus carrying jurors the previous night.
During the hearing, the judge said that he had told MSNBC not to be allowed in the building for the duration of the trial.
I don't know what the ultimate truth is, but it would go without saying that someone who is following a jury bus is a very serious matter and will be referred to the proper authorities for further investigation.
James J. Morrison was the man who followed the bus. Morrison claimed to be a producer for NBC News.
Morrison was pulled over by the police because he drove through a red light after following a block behind the bus. Morrison said that he was told to follow the bus by his supervisor in New York.
A personalleging to be affiliated with a national media outlet was briefly taken into custody and issued several traffic citations by the Kenosha Police Department. The person didn't take any photos and there was no security breach.

The department said that an investigation was being conducted.
NBC News said that the man was a freelancer and that he had received a traffic citation near the vehicle carrying the jurors.
While the traffic violation took place near the jury van, the freelancer never contacted or intended to contact the jurors during deliberations, and never photographed or intended to photograph them. We will cooperate with the authorities on any investigation.
One day after he blasted the news coverage of the Rittenhouse trial, Schroeder banned MSNBC from the courtroom.
When the trial started, we were there in part, according to Schroeder. Not fully, but in part because of grossly irresponsible handling of what comes out of this trial.

The judge said that he would think long and hard about allowing cameras for live coverage of future trials.
When I see what is being done, it is frightening and I have always been a firm believer in it.
The jury is in deliberations for a third day.

Rittenhouse is on trial for killing two men and wounding another with a semi-automatic rifle during a protest over the police shooting of a Black man.
Rittenhouse was a former police cadet and shot and killed two people. He wounded Gaige Grosskreutz. Rittenhouse is white.
He could be sentenced to life in prison if he is convicted of the most serious of the five charges against him. Rittenhouse said he acted in self-defense.

Rittenhouse's attorneys asked the judge to declare a mistrial as the jury was considering their verdict. They claimed the defense got a bad copy of the video.
