One major West Coast-based business just took things to a completely new level to show its support for the future of cryptocurrencies.

On Christmas Day this year, the famed Staples Center in Los Angeles will be renamed toCrypto.com Arena in a seemingly bizarre and unprecedented move.

On the same day as the Los Angeles Lakers basketball game against the New York Nets, a new logo for the arena will be revealed.

The Los Angeles Lakers, Clippers, LA Kings, and Los Angeles Sparks play in the arena that was formerly known as the Staples Center. The Lakers and Kings will become the official partners of the platform.

AMC is accepting cryptocurrencies.

The news of the name change was first reported by The Los Angeles Times and was confirmed on the center's official account.

The announcement said that AEG and Crypto.com had a historic naming rights partnership for one of the world's most important sports and live entertainment venues.

The partnership was brokered by a company called AEG Global Partnerships, who were responsible for the branding of the former Staples Center.
