Police in Canada said a teenager was arrested for stealing C$46 million from a victim in the US.
The Hamilton Police Service said in a statement that the transaction that led to the discovery of the account of the username was used to buy some of the stolencryptocurrencies.

The victim was the target of a cell phone scam in Hamilton, a port city located in the province of Ontario. The department said that the case was the biggest theft of its kind.

A sim swap attack is a method of hijacking that involves manipulating cellular network employees to duplicate phone numbers so that they can be used by a scam. Access to a victim's account can be obtained through such requests.
The Hamilton Police made multiple cryptocurrencies seizures that were worth more than C$7 million.

The court system is handling the case of the Hamilton teenager who is accused of possession of property or proceeds of property obtained by crime.
