Apple employees are expected to return to their corporate offices on February 1, according to a memo sent out by Tim Cook.
The memo says that employees will return under the hybrid work pilot that was announced earlier this year. Employees will work one to two days a week at Apple's campuses.
In March, workers will be expected to be in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and at home on Wednesday and Friday. Teams with a greater need to work in-person will not be able to be part of the hybrid work experience.
The company announced earlier in the year that it would allow employees to work remotely for up to one month per year. Cook told employees in the letter that this will allow them to travel, be closer to their loved ones, or simply shake up their routines.
Some Apple employees are not happy that the company requires them to return to the office after working from home for more than a year, as the company has been able to release a number of new products with its remote work schedule.
Apple executives have made it clear that employees are expected to return. "Video conference calling has narrowed the distance between us, but there are things it simply cannot replicate," Cook said in June.
In August, the company said that employees would be able to stay home until at least January, as the number of COVID cases continued to soar.
