Josh Bayliss is one of seven changes for Scotland's final Autumn Nations Series match against Japan.

Bayliss made his debut off the bench in the win over Australia.

After last week's 30-15 loss to South Africa, openside flanker Hamish Watson returns to the XV and Glasgow Warriors lock Scott Cummings is back from injury for his first appearance of the series.

Three of the four restored players are winger Darcy Graham, centre Sam Johnson and hooker George Turner.

Jamie Bhatti is making his first international start since August.

The two uncapped players are Javan Sebastian and Dylan Richardson.

After scoring two tries against South Africa last weekend, captain Stuart Hogg earned his 88th cap and moved into fourth place on the all-time list.

The nation's leading try scorer is the full-back.

"We have one eye on our next tournament, which is the Six Nations, which comes round really quickly," said Townsend. We're playing England at home and it's a big challenge for us.

It's another game to look at players who haven't had an opportunity. Josh Bayliss has a point of difference, which is his speed. That will be important this week.

Dylan has been here the whole time. He has impressed us with his professionalism, his ability to learn quickly and his speed. He's an openside flanker that could play blindside flanker. He can carry the ball.

Javan Sebastian has a lot of potential. He's a good scrummager. He moves well for a prop.

Scotland lost to Japan at the World Cup.

Only three players from the side that ran 10 tries in against Tonga have started all four of the matches.

"We've improved in a number of areas," said Townsend. We were tougher to beat until the weekend.

We know what a dangerous team Japan can be, especially when they spend more time together. We're going to see their best performance of the campaign. It's up to us to perform well on the other side.

Scotland: Hogg, Graham, Harris, Johnson, Van der Merwe, Russell, Price.

McInally, Schoeman, Sebastian, Skinner, Richardson, M Fagerson, and Kinghorn were replacements.
