The girls and their families received threats from the new Taliban regime, so they moved to Pakistan.

After the Taliban took power, a group of Afghan girl football players flew into the UK.

The expensive operation brought together an unlikely group of people.

The girls arrived from Pakistan.

The flight was paid for by the US star, KimKardashian-West.

Khalida Popal, the former manager of Afghanistan's national women's team, said that the mission was accomplished. I'm so proud of these girls. They were traumatised. They've been through a lot and are still strong. They can start a new life.

Rabbi Margaretten is the founder of the Tzedek Association. When righteous non-Jewish people stepped up to the plate to help save so many Jewish people, I know in my heart that we must be there for others at a time when their lives are at risk.

When the Taliban captured their cities, the teenagers from the Afghan provinces were afraid for their lives. Some of their families received death threats.

Ms Popal said people were looking for someone.

They were due to be evacuated to the Gulf state of Qatar at the end of August after they made their way to Kabul.

They were pulled off their buses because of security warnings, and they were close to the airport. The airport was hit by a suicide bomb two hours later, killing more than 180 people.

They went into hiding.

They were given permission to cross the border by the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

They only had temporary visas from Pakistan.

A frantic effort to find a new home began with the clock running down.

The chairman of the football club supported the girls. They had the ear of the UK government through a chain of former interpreters. They were granted visas last month.

Today is the first chapter written. I didn't know where to start when I received a call asking for help to rescue the youth from Afghanistan. They flew to the UK. Being part of the team makes this real. One day they will play in LUFC.

They still needed money to get them on a flight. Kim and her company agreed to cover the costs.

A group of 130 people were flown into the airport last night. They are going to be in a quachicle for 10 days.

Khalida Popal said that they had achieved their first goal. The next goal is to work with footballing organizations to start new careers in football.

Ms Popal said that many people were involved. It's the most difficult thing I've ever done.
