Moonwatch: Nasa resumes work on lunar lander

The lunar landers are needed to return humans to the moon. The space agency paused work on the Human Landing System after a lawsuit.

In April, the $2.9 billion HLS contract was awarded to Musk and his company. Jeff Bezos, the founder of Blue Origin, sued the space agency in August because it had originally said it would award two lander contracts. The budget shortfall forced it to back off.

The agency went back to work after a judge upheld the decision to dismiss Blue Origin's claim. At a press conference on 9 November, Bill Nelson said that human landings wouldn't be possible until at least 2025. The date was set by the Trump administration.

This landing is the only one where the SpaceX HLS is contracted. Blue Origin was one of five companies that received a grant to study the future landers.
