Lawsuit Accuses California of Endangering Female Prisoners By Forcing Them to Share Housing with Biological Males

The California Department ofCorrections and Rehabilitation is accused of putting female prisoners at risk by housing biological males in women's prisons.

The Women's Liberation Front lawsuit claims that the state department of corrections is in violation of the First, Eighth and 14th amendments with the new law known as the Transgender Respect, Agency, and Dignity Act.

The law cannot be applied in any way that avoids violating the federal, according to the suit filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of California.

The woman says she was sexually assault by a man who was transferred to the women's facility. Gonzalez was called a trans woman with a penis by the prison when she requested to be housed away from men.

Krystal doesn't believe that women have penises and the psychological distress caused by her assault is worsened by the prison's refusal to acknowledge the sex of her attacker.

The bill was signed into law by the governor. It requires the Department ofCorrections and Rehabilitation to house trans people in a way that matches their gender identity while supporting health and safety.

The measure requires the department to ask people entering its custody if they identify as trans, non-binary or intersex. It prevents the department from disciplining a prisoner who won't answer questions and also allows the information to be updated at a later date.

The law requires the prison system to house the individual in a facility for men or women based on their preference.

According to the Daily Caller, 295 inmates who were housed in an institution for males requested to be moved to a women's facility.

Gonzalez is one of several people who are included in the suit, along with the nonprofit advocacy group Woman II Woman, prisoners, and several unnamed individuals.

The largest women's prison in the world is located in California, and being degraded and humiliated is part of the daily routine.

Ichikawa said that the anti-woman law was accepted by the California State Assembly members. This also includes the California Women's Caucus. We don't understand how so many people, especially women, could not see the abuse.

The suit says that the people have experienced fear, anxiety, depression, and/or post-traumatic stress disorder from living with biological men.

The lawsuit says that some women in a cell with a man are making sleep schedules so that a woman can prevent rape by the man.

It says that staff in women's prisons are now armed with stronger pepper spray and riot control measures in order to make them less violent than men.

The mother of a baby killer who killed her children is being housed in the same facility as the prisoner who was transferred under the new laws, according to the Daily Signal.

Keep Prisons Single Sex, the Family Policy Alliance, the U.S. chapter of the Women's Human Rights Campaign, and the Independent Women's Law Center are some of the organizations backing the lawsuit.
