We have had a lot of news from United Airlines in the past few weeks, but I didn't notice that the airline says it will operate 22 daily flights to London next year.

The Singapore route has been re-booted by United.

As Singapore was opening up its travel lanes, the unofficial word out of United was that it was going to get its San Francisco - Singapore service back up and running in January of 2022.

I remember checking ExpertFlyer and not finding the San Francisco - Singapore route scheduled, but I forgot about it until I saw the United Airlines message:

It is great to see United on its way back to Singapore and it is also great to be able to see the route in the schedules. Here is what it looks like.

The Daily is UA1 SFO 22:35 - 08:00+2 days.
There is a 10:00 am to 08:35 SFO on the Daily.

The route will restart on January 4, 2022, and will be operated by a United Airlines 787-9 Dreamliner.

The United Airlines 787-9.

Business Class passengers will have to make do with the cabin and seats they see below on their journey across the Pacific, because the United Boeing 797 that will operate this route isn't a refurbished aircraft.

The Business Class cabin on United Airlines is 787-9.

Business Class seats on United Airlines.

The aircraft doesn't have a Premium Economy cabin so anyone not booking a Business Class fare will have to sit in Economy Plus or standard Economy Class for the 17+ hour flight.

The Economy Plus seats on the aircraft have more space than the Economy Class seats, so finding an extra legroom seat shouldn't be a problem.

The Economy Plus and standard Economy seats are only a little over 17′′ wide, so they will feel tight when you first sit down, and they will probably feel even tighter by the time you have spent the best part of a day.

It would take a big emergency to get me to sit in those seats.

The bottom line.

The bad news is that the San Francisco - Singapore route is going to be changed in January of 2022. The good news is that the Boeing 787-9 doesn't have the United's Polaris Business Class seats, a Premium Economy cabin, or Economy Class seats that are over 17′′ wide.

It is great to see United return to Singapore, but I wish it would use a refurbished aircraft.
