Utah Jazz's Rudy Gobert, Indiana Pacers' Myles Turner among 4 fined after altercation

Rudy Gobert, Utah Jazz center, and Myles Turner (Indian Pacers center) were two of four players who were fined Friday by the NBA after they got into a fight late in Thursday's game.
Gobert was given a $35,000 fine for starting the altercation on the court, and Turner was assessed a $25,000 penalty for escalating it. Donovan Mitchell ($30,000), and Joe Ingles ($20,000) were also fined.

After Turner had blocked his shot at rim, Gobert appeared to drag Turner to the ground. Turner responded by pushing Gobert in the back. This prompted the Jazz center team to bear hug Turner, and then wrestle him to the ground.

Mitchell and Ingles joined in the fray when members of both teams converged close to the Jazz bench. Ingles, Turner, Gobert and Turner were all expelled.

According to the NBA, Mitchell was penalized for "escalating an off-court altercation through verbally taunting another opponent," while Ingles was fined.

"Making inappropriate contact" during an altercation with an official.

Mitchell put the blame on Mitchell's frustration at the referees for allowing too many contact in the first half of the game.

Mitchell stated, "That whole thing could be avoided. Just draw the line early as opposed to letting the game build up."

Gobert stated that officials allow men to do too much ---", but noted that it wasn't a situation where he felt he had to punch.
