AMC Theaters now lets you buy movie tickets with Bitcoin

AMC Theaters, the most famous memestock, promised that by August you would be able to buy tickets and concessions using Bitcoin. Now you can.
According to CEO Adam Aron's tweet (via CoinTelegraph), Bitcoin is not the only cryptocurrency that you will be able use. AMC also accepts Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin online for purchases. You can also pay online using Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal, he said.

Big newsflash! Many new payment options are available at AMC, as promised. Drumroll, please... Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin are all accepted now. Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal are also accepted. They already account for 14% in total online transactions, which is incredible! Next is Dogecoin. pic.twitter.com/a7pqYBm7HB -- Adam Aron (@CEOAdam) November 12, 2021

Aron does not mention payment methods for online orders. It doesn't make sense that you could use crypto to purchase anything in person at a theatre. Aron also stated that the new payment methods account for "14 percent" of our online transactions. However, it is not clear whether this number refers only to cryptocurrency or all the methods listed in his tweet. AMC did not immediately respond to a request.

I don't have cryptocurrency so I cannot verify that it can be used to purchase things online with AMC. AMC's website lists PayPal as a payment option, with the note "supports cryptocurrency." This means that you will need to log in to your PayPal account to select any cryptocurrency available to pay for tickets and concessions. PayPal is the only way to pay for cryptocurrency at AMC, so you may have to choose another method.

You can also pay with Dogecoin. Aron states that this is "next". The Shiba Inu cryptocurrency is also being explored by the company.
