Hulu's Solar Opposites Wishes You a Merry F-ing Christmas

Solar Opposites' aliens have been busy. There are two more seasons of Hulu’s charmingly crass animated series, created by Rick and Morty's Justin Roiland & Star Trek: Lower Decks’ Mike McMahan. Also, there's a surprise Christmas episode that drops in less than two months.

"A Very Solar Holiday Opposites special" was announced today. It is a bold move for a show that embraces and skewers pop-culture sometimes in the same breath. The announcement was made with the help of a beautifully crafted, but extremely foul-mouthed music clip. Darren Criss lends his angelic pipes to this video, having last been seen with Gonzo in Muppets Haunted Mansion. The song is called "WTF is Christmas?" and is very NSFW. While you're watching, make sure to plug in your children's ears.

If it weren't so sad, Rhyming about "deforestation", and "Earth’s temperature inflation” would be a great idea! Roiland voices Korvo's take on Baby Jesus. I am inspired to try boozy egg nog with that nutcracker, and learn more about the evil, human-skin-wearing "evil beast" of the North.

Here's the episode description of "A Very Solar Holiday Opposites": "HOHOHOHO!" The Solars don’t understand holidays, but they won’t stop trying!" It is safe to assume that the "WTF Is Christmas" spirit, curious and clueless, adorable yet horrifying, will be fully represented in any festive shenanigans. What will the Pupa think of Santa Claus? Or, what will it do for Santa Claus? Hulu's "A Very Solar Holiday Opposites" special is available Monday, November 22.
