Eli Russell Linnetz, an ERL designer, created the white lace bridal look for Cudi. He also shared photos of Cudi on Instagram before the event and accompanied him on red carpet in a classic suit.

Linnetz was nominated for CFDA American Emerging Design of the Year. In September, Linnetz made headlines as ASAP Rocky's creative genius behind the colorful thrifted quilt look at 2021 Met Gala.

Linnetz told People that he had texted Cudi to invite him to the awards ceremony and shared a glimpse of what he would be wearing.

People reported that the California-based designer, who is 30 years old, sent him a text about a wedding gown. "I was like, "Will you marry me?"

Cudi's custom-made bridal gown consisted of a full-body, lace catsuit, gloves and a cream-colored jacket. A veil was placed on top of his neon-pink hair. The look was completed with silver-encrusted cream sneakers and accessories, Vogue reports.

Cudi stated that he was confident in Linnetz's ability to work with him.

He told People, "I trust this man so he was down to take his mind wherever he went."
