Microsoft is emailing out gift cards to its online store

It's November which is officially the holiday season according to Mariah Carey. Microsoft seems to be celebrating the occasion by sending people gift cards to their Microsoft Store. There have been a few reports that people received legitimate email from Microsoft offering gift certificates for $10 and $100. The Microsoft Store Twitter account also confirmed the promotion in an exclusive message to The Verge.
If I hadn't seen this tweet, I wouldn't bother to check my email address for my Xbox Live account. Many thanks! pic.twitter.com/SYFoCcduQT -- Christian Cerda (@_cerdafied_) November 10, 2021

It is unclear who is eligible to receive gift cards and how Microsoft selects recipients. If you have a Microsoft email account, or have signed up for emails from Microsoft to receive them, you may want to check your mail to see if you have received a gift.

Microsoft has many new products you can purchase if you are lucky enough to have a gift certificate. Microsoft announced a new wave of Surface products in September. The excellent Forza Horizon 5 was released Tuesday. You could also use the money to purchase Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. This will allow you to play Forza Horizon 5 right now, and Halo Infinite's campaign in December.
