Declan Rice won 27 caps for England

Declan Rice, West Ham's midfielder, has been forced to withdraw from the England squad due to illness.

Since reporting to St George's Park in preparation for the World Cup qualifiers against Albania, San Marino, the 22-year old has not been able to train.

England says that no new additions are being planned for the squad at this point.

Mason Mount, a Chelsea midfielder, and Luke Shaw, a Manchester United defender, are yet to join Gareth Southgate’s squad.

Mount is still being evaluated after dental surgery, and Shaw continues to follow concussion protocol following last Saturday's Manchester derby.

Arsenal's Emile Rowe was called up on Monday. Marcus Rashford, Manchester United's forward, and James Ward-Prowse, Southampton's midfielder, were unable to report for international duty.

England will play Albania at Wembley Friday, before finishing their qualifying campaign in San Marino on November 15.

To qualify for Qatar 2022, they must earn four points in those games.
