Johnson & Johnson Chairman Alex Gorsky Joins Apple's Board of Directors

Apple announced today that Alex Gorsky (the chairman and CEO at Johnson & Johnson) has joined its board.


Apple CEO Tim Cook said Gorsky was a "visionary" in healthcare and that Apple would benefit from his experience.

Tim Cook, Apple CEO, stated that Alex has been a visionary in the healthcare industry for many years. He applied his vast insight, experience and passion for technology to help improve lives and build healthier communities. "We are excited to welcome Alex to Apple's board, and I know that we all will benefit from his leadership skills and expertise."

Gorksy stated that it was an honor to be on the board of directors. He also believes in technology's ability to improve people's lives.

Gorsky joined Johnson & Johnson in 1988 and has worked in sales, marketing, and management before he was appointed CEO in 2012. Gorsky will be stepping down as CEO on January 3, 2022. However, he will still serve as executive chairman.

Gorsky joins the other Apple board members, including James A. Levinson and Arthur D. Levinson. Bell, Albert Gore and Andrea Jung join Susan L. Wagner. Ronald D. Sugar also joined the board.
