In 2018, Google Arts & Culture introduced a feature that allows you to see your doppelganger when viewing works of art. The app has already found matches for over 120 million selfies. The app can now search for pets in art.
Pet Portraits uses a machine-learning algorithm to match a photo of your furry, feathered, or finned friend with thousands of works from Google's partner organizations. The app may determine that your pet's best match is in street art from Mexico, or an ancient Egyptian cat figurine.
You can either share your Pet Portraits as a still image or select a few to make a GIF slideshow. Tap the Rainbow Camera button at the bottom to get started on the Google Arts & Culture App, which can be downloaded on iOS and Android.
Unfortunately, the Pet Portraits feature was not available at the time I wrote this article. So I couldn't test it with photos of Engadget's pets. Google shared some examples of the tool's use, including a few that aren’t quite perfect matches.
