League Two Salford City won against Redbridge and Dagenham in the FA Cup First Round.

The game was temporarily halted in the 89th minutes when a fan needed medical attention. Both sides left the pitch while the fan received treatment.

Salford led by three minutes when Jordan Turnbull, a left-wing corner player, powerfully scored.

Although the hosts had chances of equalizing, Callum Reynolds couldn't hit a post.

There were some worrying scenes at Victoria Road, however, when medics and stewards rushed to the pitch to assist a supporter who had sustained a head injury. He was then taken to hospital on a stretcher for further treatment.

Salford, which is 19th in League Two, was able to win the round and move into round two. They will be playing Newport County in that phase in 2020-21.

They had to work hard to win the victory - Salford goalkeeper Connor Ripley was able to stop Myles Weston's angled shot and Matt Robinson's poor effort in the first period.

The Daggers created more chances after the break. Angelo Balanta shot twice at Ripley. He also tipped a George Saunders shot above the bar.

After the medical incident, there was an additional 10 minutes, but the hosts were unable to force a replay.

Salford has never reached the third round in the FA Cup. They also lost in the second round in 2015-16.

Chesterfield will host them over the weekend of 4 and 5 December.
