io9 has seen Ghostbusters Afterlife. Our movie expert Germain Lussier praised the film as "great, until it's derail by gratuitous fanservice" in his spoiler-free review. Sony Pictures has released a final trailer of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which explains the fan service in detail.

The trailer is seriously a masterpiece of cinematography.
The Terror Dogs of Ghostbusters 1 and 2 are the most obvious (as seen in an earlier trailer). They are the demons that possessed Dana Barrett (played Sigourney Weber) and Louis Tully(Rick Moranis), and made them into Vinz Clortho and Zuul the Gatekeeper, respectively. These two were the heralds for the Sumerian gods of destruction Gozer (Slavitza Jona). The arrival of the three original Ghostbusters at the end should not be necessary (which Sony does very irritatingly by not showing their faces as if they don't know who it is) to determine the film's climax. Don't be alarmed if you don't know what the film's climax is. The trailer shows a familiar hairstyle and sleeve emerging from the depths.
I find it less annoying to see the spoilers than the fact that the movie will merely repeat the ending of Ghostbusters and not do anything new. Yet another nostalgic film for 40-somethings. Although Afterlife's obsession with nostalgia and creativity has been enjoyed by many, I hope that any children who watch the movie will be able to understand it.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife stars Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd. Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts are also reprising their roles. If Weaver becomes a Terror Dog once more, Rick Moranis will appear as Tully to make the other one I'll plotz. Mckenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard are the new stars. Carrie Coon and Paul Rudd are also included. On November 19, Afterlife will premiere in theaters.

Not as a complaint but as a side note, who would read the Book of Revelation without as much gravitas as Dan Aykroyd reading it? Discuss.
